MBA - next generation

Many believe that the optimal age for MBA students - 26-30 years, and the statistics it until recently reaffirmed. And it's easy to explain, because in this age of the student already has a higher education, and has experience at least 3-4 years.

But recent studies have shown that the number of people wishing to get an MBA right after high school is growing rapidly.

Here, for example, Tom Starin does not fit the usual scope of MBA students, for the reason that he was 22 years and had, in comparison with other students of business schools, virtually no experience, except for summer practice. He is just a few months ago, received a diploma meteorologist from the University of Pennsylvania, with additional specialization in beznes strategy.

Despite all the cliches and rules, and that experience in senior positions has always been considered a prerequisite to learning the business, Tom has managed to surprise a selection committee of the School of Business Administration Simon (University of Rochester), and show good results at the time the test GMAT (710 points, with the necessary 650). But the most interesting thing was that no less important, as was baseball. No, it's not about to play for the university team, the fact that Mr. Olden has already had its own small business, and he concludes a very successful company. Nesting 2-3 thousand dollars of investment per year a student brought at least 3 4tysyach income. Tom cheaply bought cards depicting players and then selling them at an inflated price in the midst of the most interesting matches. "This guy has all the makings of a winner," - says Mark Zupan, dean of the Simon School. - An entrepreneurial flair, passion, creativity, self-confidence - all at it. "All this, in the firm belief Dean is far more important than the traditional experience of at least 4-5 years.
